Solidarity Statement
We the signatories to this statement are a group of students, faculty and staff at the American University in Cairo who wish to express solidarity with the Judges Club in their stand-in scheduled for this 25 May and support the Club in demanding the adoption of the draft Judiciary Law approved by consecutive general assemblies of the Judges Club since 1991.
Moreover, we the signatories of this statement wish to express our grave concern over the violence and arrests that took place during the past weeks, and call for the release of all those arrested in support of the Judges Club and their principle demand for the independence of the Judiciary.

نحن الموقعون على هذه الرسالة مجموعة من الطلبة و اعضاء هيئة التدريس و العاملين بالجامعة الأمريكية بالقاهرة ، نود ان نعرب عن تضامننا بكل قوة و إصرار مع نادى القضاة فى وقفته المقررة ليوم 25 مايو الجارى و مساندتنا للنادى فى المطالبة بإقرار مشروع قانون السلطة القضائية والذي حاز على ثقة أغلبية كاسحة من القضاة في جمعيات النادى العمومية منذ 1991. كذلك نعرب نحن الموقعون على هذه الرسالة عن قلقنا البالغ حيال ما ساد الاسابيع الماضية من اعمال عنف و اعتقالات تعرض لها المواطنين المؤيدين لنادى القضاة فى مطلبه الجوهرى بإستقلال السلطة القضائية ، ونطالب بالإفراج الفورى عن جميع من تم القبض عليهم بتهمة التظاهر أو الاعتصام أو غيرها من أشكال التعبير السلمى

Thank you for giving me the opportunity to join AUC community in their concern and solidarity with Judge's Club mevements and just demands. Taking a strong stand by our civilian community is the right step towards a long way to tru democracy in Egypt.

I wouldlike to sign my name in solidarity with the Judge's Movement.I deeply support their just and long awaited call for freedom,honesty and democracy. A glimpse of light amidst utter darkness.
